The Café Experience at Cantraybridge
Working in the Café
The Clocktower Café is at the heart of Cantraybridge, offering students the chance to gain real‑world experience in a supportive environment. Open Tuesday to Friday, the café welcomes local community members, families, and businesses, giving students the opportunity to showcase their skills in hospitality, retail, and customer service.
As part of their training, students learn how to prepare food, serve customers, manage bookings, and work as part of a team. This hands‑on experience builds confidence, communication, and independence, while also preparing students for future employment in the Highlands workforce. Supported by staff, students develop practical skills in a commercial setting, learning how to meet customer expectations and take pride in their achievements.
Working in the café is more than training – it’s about building self‑belief, developing transferable skills, and connecting with the wider community. Every shift helps students grow in confidence and prepares them for life beyond Cantraybridge
